Organisations benefit from changes to Legislation
Medical check-ups paid for by an employer, to be exempt from tax and national insurance - changes to legislation post 6 April 2009
If you provide annual check-ups to your employees then you may well recall the new tax and NIC regulations in 2007 treating this as a benefit in kind. If this was not offered to all employees this was subject to income tax and National Insurance.
Doctorcall Medical Services Group is delighted that HM Revenue & Customs has now confirmed that legislation will be included in the 2009 Finance Bill, effective from 6 April 2009, to exempt from tax (and NIC) the provision of yearly health screening and medical check-ups without the need for these to be provided generally to all employees.
This will take effect from 6 April 2009.
