The importance of male Health Screening
Doctorcall’s Platinum Health Assessment provides you with the opportunity to detect diseases and health issues in their early stages.
The importance of annual health check-ups was highlighted when Max Clifford, PR Guru, recently announced being diagnosed and having undergone treatment for prostate cancer after an early diagnosis last year. Max Clifford had regular check-ups whereby they did a PSA test (a simple blood test), which identifies levels of PSA produced by the prostate. Although PSA is predominantly used to monitor treatment for people with prostate cancer it can be a useful screening tool, particularly for those at high risk of developing the disease.
Our comprehensive Platinum Health Assessment looks at your overall health as well as your lifestyle. Our healthcare professionals will discuss any health concerns and help you to make informed decisions on any lifestyle changes.
Dr Christian Jessen, doctor at Harley Street says “Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. If it is identified early it is highly likely it can be cured, either with medications, radiotherapy or surgery. There is a wide range of prostate cancers but early detection improves the survival rate and might just save your life.”
A simple PSA blood test is performed as part of our Platinum Health Assessment for men over the age of 50. We recommend all men should have regular health screenings. For further information on our range of screenings or to book into the clinic call
