Driver Medicals

Doctorcall can provide a full range of Driver Medicals in both our London and Manchester clinics.

A comprehensive range of driver medicals are available. We can also provide additional testing should you require it and are often available at short notice:

Once completed, results are generally available within an hour and can be sent by email or fax to any location. We also provide relevant travel medicals and vaccinations and advice for personnel working overseas in countries around the world.

Cheap, short-notice Driver Medicals

A driver medical is often a legal requirement. We can provide you with the certificate required to show your employer or contractor.

You may need a driver medical if you fit the following criteria:

  1. First application of your provisional Category C1 (7.5t), C (rigid) or D1 (minibus), D (bus) licence.
  2. When you turn 45 you will need to have another driver medical and then one every 5 years.
  3. Upon turning 65 you will need to do a medical every year.

How long will the medical take?

The medical should take no more than an hour, but probably less. We aim to see you promptly so you're not waiting any longer than you need to be. Your appointment should start at the time you book it for.

Do I get my certificate on the day of my appointment?

Yes, as long as the doctor can deem you fit, we will provide you with the certificate at the end of your appointment to take away with you

Do I need to bring anything with me to the appointment?

Please bring along a photo ID and arrive 15 minutes before the start of the appointment. If you have any medical conditions that may be relevant, please bring along information such as repeat prescriptions and specialist letters to help speed up the process.

Please also bring a copy of your medical history if you can.

Do you offer drug and alcohol testing?

Yes. Some employers request a drug and alcohol test conducted by a qualified physician. All of our doctors are trained and qualified to conduct these. if you think you need a drug and alcohol test, just let us know once you have made your appointment and we will add it on to the appointment for you.

I need some extra tests

As your appointment will be with a GP we can usually accommodate a range of tests and services whether they are in relation to your medical or not. Once you have made your appointment you can let us know and we can add these on to your booking.
